How long can I hold a LayBy for?
PPQ offers a convenient four (4) month LayBy option for Colour, Theme, Business, Euro, Signature Series and 2x2 Flexi plates (requiring a $100 deposit) and a seven (7) month LayBy option for Prestige, A Plate and 7C Prestige plates (requiring a $500 deposit). The date the deposit is received by PPQ becomes the LayBy commencement date. The LayBy Agreement, terms and conditions must be accepted to apply for a LayBy online, and a copy of this LayBy Agreement will be emailed for your reference on receipt of the deposit. If the LayBy is not applied for online, the emailed LayBy Agreement must be returned fully completed to PPQ within ten (10) days of the commencement date.
How do I LayBy a personalised plate online?
Simply click Create A Plate® to select your combination, background and sizes. Choose the LayBy Plate option at the end, confirm your details and pay your deposit securely online. An email will be sent to you detailing alternate payment methods and your account details should you wish to continue paying your installments online.. Please note that the combination may not be reserved until a deposit is received. Ongoing payments must be made at least once every 28 days, which is your sole responsibility. Each payment must be a minimum of $50 (for Colour, Theme, Business, Euro, Signature Series and 2x2 Flexi plates) or $250 (for Prestige, A Plate and 7C Prestige plates).
How do I pay?
Deposits and all ongoing payments can be made securely online using your unique account details which will be emailed to you when you request a LayBy. Payments can also be made over the phone by calling 136 356 using MasterCard, Visa or American Express cards. Alternatively payments can be made via the post by cheque or money order, or in person with cash at the PPQ office. Payments cannot be made by direct debit or BPAY, nor at Department of Transport and Main Roads Customer Service Centres or Queensland motor dealers. Receipts will be emailed to your nominated email address, each one containing a summary of the LayBy as it currently stands.
If you have submitted an application for a LayBy, you will have received an email with your account and login details. If you have not received an email or have forgotten your login details, select the 'Forgot Password' option.
Are there any additional costs?
LayBys do not attract additional fees or charges, however if cancelled before you receive your chosen personalised plates or terminated at any time during the LayBy Agreement, PPQ will retain a termination charge of $100 and/or as specified in Item 6.
What happens when I pay off my LayBy?
If you pay your final payment conveniently online, we recommend you ensure your LayBy and personalised plate order details are correct before you confirm the transaction. If you are paying by any other method, a PPQ representative will confirm your details with you. When your order is finalised and your final payment received, your personalised plates will be delivered within three (3) weeks.
