My plates have been damaged or stolen. What now?

If your plate/s have been stolen, please report the plates as stolen via the non-emergency police line on 131 444 or visit your local Department of Transport and Main Roads. 

Once you have reported your plate/s as stolen, you can remake your plates and keep the same design or you can redesign them and put your old combination on a new design.  Learn more about remaking/redesigning your plates here. 

If you're replacing damaged plates, make sure you return the original set to a Department of Transport and Main Roads Customer Service Centre or Agency within 14 days of receiving your new plates, to comply with Departmental regulations.
