Can I convert my motor vehicle plates to motorcycle?

To convert your motor vehicle plates into motorcycle plates, there are a couple of prerequisites  to complete the conversion.

1. Firstly, your motor vehicle plates must not be registered to a car. If they are registered to car, you will need to fill out a remove and attach form and then visit your local Department of Transport and Main Roads Customer Service Centre to have them unregistered.
   
   
2. Once the motor vehicle plates are unregistered, call us on 136 356 to process the motorcycle conversion. Pricing of the conversion starts from $175.

The new motorcycle plate will take 10-14 business days to be manufactured  and delivered  to your nominated address.

Please note: The motor vehicle plates will need to be surrendered at your local Department of Transport and Main Roads Customer Service Centre within 14 days of receiving your new motorcycle plates.
